Bharti Airtel has announced Airtel Xstream Stick and Xstream 4K Box for its home consumers prior to the commercial launch of Reliance Jio Fiber in India. With its Xstream service, Airtel wants to offer a single platform for all user entertainment needs.
Airtel Xstream is a combination of satellite television channels, important OTT services (Over-The-Top), music streaming and gaming. This is somewhat similar to how Reliance had positioned its Jio Fiber service during its AGM 2019 last month.
The two devices – Xstream Stick and Xstream 4K Hybrid Box have features to turn any TV with an HDMI port into a smart TV.
Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, Bharti Airtel said: "Airtel Xstream meets the needs of a new generation of consumers who are looking for seamless and converged entertainment on multiple screens at home and on the go."
Airtel Xstream is an upgrade of the existing Airtel TV app from telecom operators and customers can download the Xstream app from Play Store or App Store to view the Xstream library on their smartphones. The service is also available on the internet and customers must log in to the Airtel Xstream site to watch movies, shows and live TV.
