To help you keep abreast of what's new and what's coming up in Fortnite, we've put together this handy page that will be updated with the latest announcements. So to get ready for the explosion, here & apos; s everything you need to know about Fortnite.
What is Fortnite
There has been a lot of hype about Fortnite since its release in July 2017. But what is it exactly?
Fortnite is a fighting generous game where you are thrown on an island without weapons or equipment and it's up to you to shovel for supplies and fight for your life to be the last man or team at the end of the game – with the extra pressure of a shrinking card that closes as the game progresses, forcing players to sharpen their focus.
The game is available for free on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android, with in-game purchases that are limited to purely cosmetic options.

Fortnite update news and Fortnite patch notes
- What's new? Fortnite Season 9 is live and we are working on update 9.30. View the new Chug Splash item below.
Fortnite is now in season 9 and version 9.30 is our latest update. The major addition introduced in this update is Chug Splash. It may not sound like the tastiest drink, but with this throwable you can heal yourself and other players.
The Chug Splash throwable is essentially a six pack of drinks that, when thrown, explode when impacted. All players within reach of the explosion (yes, those are friends and enemies) gets 20 health as a wounded. When health is full, shield is added.
The item can be found in a large number of places, including floor plunder, in crates, in vending machines, stock drops and llamas. They fall in piles of two, up to a maximum of six.
Items that are blown with this update are Boom Bow, Dual Pistols and Dynamite.
In addition to Chug Splash, there are three new limited time modes in the rotation.
Sniper Shootout Duos speaks reasonably well and places players against each other when they are only armed with sniper rifles; Trio ' s is the classic game of Battle Royale but with a group of three; and Solid Gold Squads is a popular mode where players fight with only legendary weapons.
You can fully open the patch notes and view the latest bug fixes and updates on the official epic blog.

Can I play Fortnite on mobile?
Yes, that's possible! Perhaps. After months of waiting, Fortnite is finally on both iOS and Android, although you need a phone that can actually perform the game.
iOS users can download directly from the App Store. As long as you use iOS 11 on iPhone 6S / SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, iPad Pro devices or later, you are fine. Oh, and of course you will need an internet connection.
Fortnite also hit Android phones this summer and finally came out of beta in October. You can view the full list of phones – and find the Fortnite installer – on our Fortnite on Android page.
Is this the full game?
It is the full Fortnite game. There are some minor differences: it is not as visually impressive as on more powerful devices, the controls are a touch screen and many audio features are made visually so that you can play comfortably in public without headphones. But you will not miss important functions.
What is the deal with cross-play?
A great deal is what it is. While previous owners of Xbox One and PS4 were unable to play the game together, Sony ' s turn means that everyone on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android can now all participate in the crossfire.
So if you have friends who prefer PC, others who prefer console and you are on vacation with your mobile, that is no reason to stop the fun.
There is also a cross-pollination. So if you are logged in to your Fortnite account on your mobile and later log in to your console to play there, everything you did on your mobile later that day will be transferred.
Sounds good, how do I get it?
We have a guide for getting Fortnite on mobile at TechRadar and we are constantly updating it with the latest news about the rollout. If your device is not there yet, keep checking it and probably one day.
What is a Fortnite Battle Pass?
The Battle Pass is a salable item in Fortnite that gives you access to exclusive in-game rewards.
As players complete daily challenges and raise their rank, they earn Battle Stars, which can then be used to unlock Tiers in their Battle Pass. Every new layer that you unlock brings both free and premium rewards. The levels vary from season to season, but in the third season you get around 100 items in each Battle Pass that can unlock between 75 and 150 hours of play.
Everyone who has a Battle Pass receives the free reward that they unlock, but only Premium Pass holders receive the Premium reward. Battle Pass Premium can only be purchased with in-game V-dollars and not with real money.
You can purchase a Battle Pass for around £ 7 / $ 10 on the Battle Pass tab of the game menu.
Benefits of Twitch Prime
Those who use Twitch Prime and play Fortnite will be happy to know that they now have access to free loot. Those with a Prime account can claim the Fortnite Twitch Prime Pack and the Fortnite Twitch Prime Pack 2, which contain a large number of cosmetic items and are available on all platforms.
The first package contains two exclusive gliders and outfits: the Havoc Outfit and Back Bling, plus the Sub Commander Outfit and Slipstream Glider. The second package contains three exclusive items for Fortnite's Battle Royale mode, including the Camouflage-heavy Trailblazer Outfit, the True North Back Bling and the Tenderizer Pickaxe. There is also a new dance motto for those who love the dance floor as much as the battlefield.
The packages can only be claimed on a single platform, but they can be shared via PC / console and mobile, as long as you use the same Epic account on these platforms. However, you cannot share your loot on PS4 and Xbox One, even if you use the same Epic account.
