Are you ready for Gamescom 2019? You can get better with the summer gaming event that is about to start, and with some of the biggest titles in the gaming calendar coming soon.
Although Gamescom is not usually a big show for announcements – that is usually the order of the earlier E3 2019 event in July – journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley plans to shake up the formula, with a live stream to announce a pre-show called Opening Night Live with announcements and new content from Square Enix, Google Stages, Epic Games and more – and starts in just a few hours.
TechRadar is live from Cologne during the Gamescom 2019 week and offers you the latest news, announcements and previews of the show.
There is only a few weeks left, so here & apos; s all you need to know about Gamescom 2019 including the latest news, rumors, exhibitor schedules & our predictions about what we are likely to see during the show.

Gamescom: Opening Night Live
In a new twist Geoff Keighley (the creator of The Game Awards) will organize a pre-Gamescom live show called Opening Night Live.
Keighley promises that the show will contain a lot of world premiere content and announcements. View the list of tweeted Keighley below with just a few companies from which we can expect new content:
Keighley has some great contacts within the gaming industry, so we expect some surprising announcements from the show. With Private Division, Ubisoft and Epic Games on billing, it is reasonable to assume that we will take a closer look at The Outer Worlds, Watch Dogs: Legion and new Fortnite content.
What's more, we know that Hideo Kojima will appear live to premiere an "exclusive new look" on Death Stranding.
You can watch the Opening Night Live stream from the comfort of your home.
The live stream will be available to watch on Twitch on August 19 at 7:00 PM BST / 11:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM CEST or August 20 at 4:00 AM AEST.

Sony on Gamescom 2019
Sony will be attending Gamescom 2019 and will be the first public appearance of the year – and we are very excited after such a long period of radio silence.
So what do we expect from Sony? Well, according to Geoff Keighley & apos; Sony will display new content or make some sort of announcement. Whether that is limited to the images of Death Stranding is for speculation, but we hope for more details about the exclusive titles from Sony, such as The Last of Us: Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima.
Despite the announcement of the PS5 earlier this year, we don't think Sony will likely reveal more about the next-generation console during Gamescom 2019. But we can always hope …
Microsoft on Gamescom 2019
Microsoft Xbox is going pretty fast for Gamescom 2019. Xbox has nearly 200 stands on the show floor, including the first public hands-on of both Minecraft Dungeons and Gears 5 ' s Horde Mode. Fans also get the opportunity to try Project xCloud.
We also know that Xbox Games Studios will appear during Opening Night Live, so we expect to hear more on Gears 5, Sea of Thieves and could be Halo Infinite? But that can be wishful thinking. It is also possible that we can get more information about Xbox Project Scarlett. Fingers crossed.
In addition, Inside Xbox organizes a special episode live from the Gloria Theater in Cologne on August 19 at 5:00 PM CEST / 4:00 PM BSt / 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET or August 20 at 1:00 AM AEST.
Xbox also organizes Open Doors at the Gloria Theater from August 21 to August 23. Access to Xbox Open Doors is free and fans can participate in community events, game tournaments, panel sessions and other experiences.

Nintendo on Gamescom 2019
Nintendo has now revealed what his online and offline plans for the show will be.
Gamescom itself runs from August 20 to 24, but most of the online activities of Nintendo will take place between August 20 and 22. On these dates, those not attending the show can watch a series of videos with extensive gameplay from the upcoming Switch lineup from the publisher.
Games that have been in the spotlight for some time are Luigi's Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Witcher 3, Astral Chain, Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Dragon Quest 10 S: Echoes or an Elusive Age.
For visitors to the show floor, Nintendo has a stand where it is possible to get hold of titles, including The Legend of Zelda: Link ' s Awakening, Luigi ' s Mansion 3, Dragon Quest 10 S, Pokémon Sword and Shield and even very highly expected on the Witcher 3 port.
New gameplay is all very good and good, but if you want nothing more than a good competition, you want to tune into Nintendo ' s one-off Super Smash Bros. on August 22. Ultimate Gamescom 2019 Invitational. The event starts with YouTube streaming from Nintendo channel ' noon and players will compete for the chance to be flown to Japan for the Ultimate World Challenge Cup in October.
Unfortunately no mention has been made of the newly announced Nintendo Switch Lite, but we hope that Nintendo has some surprises in store.
Nvidia on Gamescom 2019
Nvidia will be at Gamescom 2019, but it is unlikely that it will have new graphics cards to show off, let alone an entire generation like last year. However, now that more games than ever are using unique ray tracing technology, we expect that Gamescom 2019 is all about ray tracing.
We've seen some rumors about a possible RTX 2080 Ti Super, but we wouldn't hold our breath. However, if you have recently dropped stacks on an expensive Nvidia Turing graphics card, Nvidia should have a number of new games that can take advantage of those RT and Tensor cores.
Although we know that Intel will be at Gamescom this year, we really don't know what it has to offer. If we were to take an (optimistic) guess, Intel would use this game event to show off the answer to AMD Ryzen's 3rd generation. But we hope not.
What we could see happening is that Intel takes its recent announcement of Ice Lake processors and the Gen11 graphics that have been packed and lets gamers know what it means to them. And we might even get some updates about Intel Xe graphics cards – Gamescom seems the perfect place for that.
Yet we don't really know what Intel has in store, so we just have to wait.
Dell and Alienware on Gamescom
Dell and Alienware will also be present at the European gaming show, and although we are not sure what to expect, you can bet they have some slick gaming hardware to show off. Whether it is the latest accessories, a new Alienware desktop PC or something that nobody sees coming, we do not know what we are up for.
