It is really the year of Pokémon. The Pokémon Company, which knows Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Sword and Shield so well, has revealed further details about the upcoming mobile title: Pokémon Masters.
Pokémon Masters will release "this summer" (between July and September) for Android and iOS devices and sees players collaborating with iconic Pokémon trainers from the series to participate in real-time battles on mobile devices.

That's right, you won't actually catch any Pokémon in Pokémon Masters, instead you'll be assigned the special Pokémon of your chosen master. So when it comes to fighting, you work together in a team of up to three players to defeat rival squadrons.

This is quite a deviation from what we have seen before from the Pokémon Company, with the emphasis on the trainers rather than the Pokémon itself.
Pokémon Masters will see us venture to a new region called Pasio (an "artificial island") in an effort to become the champion of the Pokémon Masters League.
We expect iconic Pokémon Masters from the entire series to appear, so expect Misty, Brock and Red to look like.
The Pokémon Company has not announced an exact date on which the game will be launched or the price will be determined. That also means that we do not know whether micro-transactions will be implemented, although Nintendo has shown more restraint in this area than some.
