Samsung looks like it is preparing its next smartwatch for launch in August, but the company may announce it just before the expected date of August 7 if a leaked press photo is to be believed.
According to an image of the famous leaker Evan Blassinstead, the watch can be revealed on August 5, depending on the date on the device.
Samsung often includes the launch day as a date on the screen in the press material, so this may suggest that we hear about the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 before the launch of the Note 10 on 7 August.

A separate report from SamMobile has also offered a variety of specifications about the upcoming smartwatch, including the fact that we are likely to see two different sizes; 44 mm or 40 mm.
The larger watch comes with a 1.4-inch screen, while the smaller watch has a 1.2-inch screen. Both are Super AMOLED screens with a resolution of 360 x 360.
The leak also suggests that the coming watch will come with a Touch Bezel, rather than a physically rotating one.
Samsung has dropped the rotating ring of the Galaxy Watch Active to save space, but it was a unique feature that many people thought was missing on the smartwatch. This time, it seems that Samsung allows you to communicate with the watch by moving your finger over the edge of the screen to scroll through menus.
The complete picture
Dive into the watch and it is likely that it contains the same chipset that we saw on the Galaxy Watch Active, the Exynos 9110. We have found that this works well during our full review and rumors suggest that this is accompanied by 4 GB of storage.
If you choose the Bluetooth model, you get 768 MB RAM, while those who opt for the LTE edition get 1.5 GB RAM.
That also seems to confirm that there will be an LTE version of this watch. The original Samsung Galaxy Watch Active was only available in a Bluetooth version, so this makes it easier to use the watch while exercising away from your phone.
We do not currently know if only one size will be available in LTE, but given that the original Galaxy Watch was available in both sizes with the technology on board, we assume that Samsung will do the same here.
This leak does not come with images of the coming watch, but it does give us a clearer picture of the color options offered. Stainless steel and aluminum are two separate finishes for the watches and each version is available in black and silver.
Samsung will only offer the LTE version in stainless steel and the golden color is also limited to this material. Those looking for a Pink Gold option must adhere to aluminum.
When it comes to the battery, we don't know what Samsung will estimate, but the larger watch comes with a 340 mAh cell, while the smaller watch comes with a 247 mAh.
It also comes with Bluetooth 5 technology on board, which should allow a more stable connection when you move and it is also slightly more energy efficient than the previous technology.
We do not know exactly when Samsung will announce the Galaxy Watch Active 2, but it will probably land on August 7 or, if this leak is correct, we may even see it sooner.
