YouTube opens the lock gates of the library with originals: soon you will be able to watch popular YouTube Premium shows such as Cobra Kai, Lazer Team and Liza On Demand free with advertisements.
Previously, YouTube Originals were locked behind a paywall and were available for YouTube Premium and YouTube TV subscribers, but that will change.

That said, there are two reservations: the first is that not all shows will be immediately available for free and that they will not remain that way indefinitely. (In principle, shows can be moved between paid and free at any time, so you must proceed quickly.)
The other reservation is that the shows have interstitial ads as you can find in longer YouTube videos.
The reason behind the strategy change is to give advertisers a premium placement place – think of primetime programming on traditional cable – and it can be used to promote shows that might not otherwise have much audience.
… so it will be YouTube just like normal?
Pretty much, yes. According to a YouTube blog post explaining the changes, a large number of these shows will soon be available for free streaming – and that will include the third season of the flagship show, Cobra Kai.
Of course, these shows will now compete with the 400 hours of YouTube content on the site every minute, but if YouTube wants to be serious about offering premium content, this is a good way to get started.
